Bill took me to a tailoring shop today so my robes will not disgrace me. The cuffs have been replaced, and they look much better.

I'm sorry your birthday was not all you wanted, but I'm glad my package arrived on time to (hopefully) cheer you up. Tell you what: let's arbitrarily decide that this year your birthday's been switched to tomorrow. We'll spend tomorrow night together at least.
